Canoe Crafters

Canoe Crafters is our community outreach project for 2023 and will see 6 canoes being built with 3 youth groups and 40 model boats being built with 4 seniors groups throughout Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire and Westray.

This project has been funded through National Heritage Lottery Funding and we’d like to say thanks to National Lottery players for making that possible.

As well as the full size and model boats our participants will be taking part in song writing workshops, going for day trips on canoes, kayaks and fabulous vintage sailing vessels and visiting maritime heritage museums such as Fairfield in Govan and The Denny Brothers Experimental Ship Model Test Tank in Dumbarton.

We’ll be putting a full portfolio of the project online at the end of the project.
